Reiki Treatment

Reiki treatments are scientifically proven to relieve stress, induce relaxation, accelerate natural healing, reduce pain, release emotional blockages, and balance subtle body energy to support other medical therapies. The treatment typically last about 45 minutes, plus an additional 15 min for goal setting. Patients typically experience sensations such as heat or tingling where the practitioner has placed her hands. These sensations are sometimes felt moving through the entire body.
Reiki treatments are currently being performed at our Stow, Ohio mental health clinic.

What happens during a Reiki treatment?
During your treatment session, our practitioner Heather will gently place her hands palms down on or just above your body in specific energy locations using a series of 12 to 15 different hand positions. There is no pressure, massage, or manipulation. At each position, Heather will hold her hands until the flow of energy is at optimum levels. Heather is the conduit between you and the source of universal life force energy which flows through her hands. You will be comfortable lying on a massage table, fully clothed, while a certified specialist conducts the treatment.
How does Reiki work?
Reiki helps you move toward a unique balance in the body, mind and spirit and supports the body’s own healing mechanisms to function more effectively. Scientific research has documented lowered heart rate, blood pressure, stress hormones and an increased immune response during Reiki sessions. This suggests a complex process that engages body systems, simultaneously shifting the body from domination by the “fight or flight” response to a relaxed response supporting the body’s own healing mechanisms. This holistic energy treatment is gaining greater respect in the medical community as many highly reputable medical facilities are now offering this alternative healing.
